No loss of life or property reported in this incident
Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, January 2 -
The news published regarding an incident of landslide in a mining area in Pichopa Kalan village of Charkhi Dadri district and vehicles being buried under the debris is misleading and completely baseless. It is clarified that there has been no loss of life or property in this incident.
The person who is said to be injured has suffered minor injuries due to sliding of a small stone and has been
taken to the hospital where plaster has been applied on his toe due to a fracture. Senior officials of the department said on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Munish Sharma, SDM Suresh Kumar and the Mining Officer have inspected the incident site and no trace of any landslide was found. At the same time, no mining machinery and vehicle was found buried under the debris.
It is worth mentioning that the Department of Mines and Geology, Haryana is making every effort to stop
illegal mining by adopting modern techniques. Slope stability survey is also done by the department through
drones from time to time.
