For the first time, the swearing-in ceremony of new MPs has been organized in the new Parliament House and the newly elected MPs of Punjab took oath today. Let us tell you that Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Malvinder Kang and Rajkumar Chabbewal of Aam Aadmi Party took oath in Punjabi, while on the other hand 7 newly elected members of Congress also took the oath of allegiance in Punjabi. Independent MP Sarabjit Singh Khalsa and Akali Dal's only MP Biba Harsimrat Kaur Badal have also taken oath.
It is worth noting that Amritpal Singh, who won from Khadoor Sahib, was also called to take oath. However, Amritpal Singh was not allowed to come out of Dibrugarh jail to take oath, because Amritpal is lodged in Dibrugarh jail under NSA. Along with this, a few days ago, the Punjab government had extended the NSA on him for one more year.
