Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Raksha Bandhan with schoolchildren at his official residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, on Friday. The occasion was marked by warm interactions, laughter, high-fives and conversations with the children, creating a cheerful atmosphere during the special celebration.

Prime Minister shared glimpses of the Raksha Bandhan event on social media, including a video showcasing his interactions with the students. In the video posted on Instagram, Modi can be seen greeting children, exchanging high-fives and spending time with them during the festivities.

During the interaction, a young girl asked the Prime Minister about his childhood dream. Responding with a smile, Modi said, “To meet all of you,” drawing laughter and applause from the students. Another child offered him advance birthday wishes, while the Prime Minister was also seen asking children about their food preferences and interests.

Prime Minister blessed the students and spent time engaging with them throughout the celebration. Sharing the video, he wrote that the Raksha Bandhan ceremony at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg was filled with “high-fives, smiles and much more.”

Earlier in the day, Modi extended Raksha Bandhan greetings to the nation through a post on X. He wished happiness, prosperity and success for all citizens and expressed hope that the bonds of affection, belonging and mutual trust would always remain strong.

Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit verse highlighting the significance of the sacred thread of protection, describing it as a symbol that brings victory, happiness, good health, prosperity and well-being.

Modi has continued the tradition of celebrating Raksha Bandhan with children over the years. Last year as well, children tied rakhis on his wrist and participated in the festival celebrations at his residence. He had also thanked women across the country for their affection, trust and blessings.
