Punjab Armed Regiment soldier Naik Sarabjit Singh was martyred while serving in the high-altitude region of Leh, Ladakh, after his health deteriorated due to low oxygen levels. His sacrifice has left his native village of Bind Rakh and the surrounding area in deep mourning.

Naik Sarabjit Singh, son of Darshan Singh and a resident of Bind Rakh village, was posted in the extreme high-altitude terrain of Leh. According to reports, his condition became critical on Monday morning after experiencing severe oxygen deficiency while on duty.

He was immediately provided medical assistance, but despite the best efforts of doctors, he could not be saved.

The soldier had recently married on January 25 this year, making the tragedy even more heartbreaking for his family.

His uncle, Sukhwinder Singh of Bind Rakh village, said that Naik Sarabjit Singh’s mortal remains are expected to reach his native village today. He will be laid to rest with full state and military honours.

Political leaders, social organizations, and religious groups from the region have expressed profound grief over his martyrdom and extended their condolences to the bereaved family, paying tribute to his supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
