After Kewal Singh Dhillon took charge as the new Punjab BJP president, the party outlined its strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections, signaling an aggressive push to expand its presence across the state.
Ahead of Dhillon’s formal assumption of office, BJP leaders asserted that the party would contest all 117 Assembly seats and work towards establishing a double-engine government in Punjab. The leadership also indicated that the party’s election campaign would begin from the politically significant Malwa region.
Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu said Dhillon has been appointed state president from a region that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party consider their strongest political stronghold.
Bittu stated that the BJP’s campaign would start from Barnala and Sangrur, adding that these districts would serve as the foundation for political change in Punjab. He said there is little time left before the elections and that the party’s entire organizational machinery will remain actively engaged with the public over the coming months.
Emphasizing the BJP’s decision-making process, Bittu said the party functions through collective leadership and that once a decision is taken, the entire organization stands united behind it. He added that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the BJP is prepared to implement its roadmap for Punjab and take its vision directly to the people.
