Punjab Government has announced an extensive program to commemorate the 650th Prakash Parv of Guru Ravidas Ji, with a series of cultural, spiritual and environmental initiatives to be organised across the state.
Sharing details of the celebrations, Punjab Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond said the government aims to take the teachings and philosophy of Guru Ravidas Ji to audiences across India and abroad. As part of the initiative, universities across Punjab will organise lectures, workshops and seminars highlighting the saint’s life, teachings and contribution to social equality and spiritual awakening.
Minister said kirtan samagams and drone shows will also be organised to engage devotees and the public during the celebrations.
One of the flagship projects announced by the government is the development of a 650-acre Guru Ravidas Bagichi. In addition, around 6.5 lakh saplings will be planted across all districts of Punjab as part of a large-scale green initiative linked to the commemorative events.
To encourage public participation, the government will organise marathons and cycle rallies in every district. Shobha Yatras will also be taken out from Jammu, Bathinda and Varanasi to Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, an important religious site associated with Guru Ravidas Ji.
The celebrations will culminate in a state-level event at Minar-e-Begampura, where devotees, religious leaders and dignitaries are expected to gather to pay tribute to Guru Ravidas Ji and celebrate his enduring message of equality, social justice and universal brotherhood.
Punjab Government said the year-long program is aimed at preserving and promoting Guru Ravidas Ji’s rich spiritual legacy while inspiring future generations through cultural, educational and community-driven initiatives.
