The Punjab government on Friday ordered the transfer and fresh posting of seven IAS officers as part of a major administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and improving efficiency across departments. The orders were issued by Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, directing all officers to assume their new responsibilities with immediate effect.

IAS officer Kamal Kishor Yadav has been appointed Secretary, General Administration and Coordination Department, along with additional charge of the Science, Technology and Environment Department and the Forest and Wildlife Preservation Department.

Arshdeep Singh Thind has been given additional responsibility of the Water Supply and Sanitation Department along with the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department.

Amit Talwar has been appointed Special Secretary in the Rural Development and Panchayat Department. He has also been designated as the nodal officer for drug-related matters and caste census operations.

Parminder Pal Singh has been posted as Special Secretary in the Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Department.

Gautam Jain has been appointed Managing Director of the Punjab Health Systems Corporation, while Jasbir Singh-II has been assigned additional charge of the Punjab State Warehousing Corporation Limited.

Meanwhile, 2023-batch IAS officer Pallavi Mishra has been appointed Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Kalanaur.

Earlier in the day, the Punjab government had also transferred 45 officers, including six IAS and 39 PCS officers, in a large-scale bureaucratic reshuffle. Several key departments and districts witnessed fresh appointments as part of the administrative overhaul.

The reshuffle is being viewed as an effort by the government to tighten administrative functioning and enhance efficiency in departments such as Home, Housing and Urban Development, Agriculture, Transport and Revenue. Among the key appointments, Neelima has been posted as Secretary, Home Affairs.
