Despite the continued influence of a western disturbance, Punjab is witnessing a sharp rise in temperatures. On Friday, the state's maximum temperature climbed back to 41°C, with Patiala recording the highest temperature of the day.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), weather conditions are expected to remain mixed over the next four days. Districts bordering Himachal Pradesh are likely to experience light rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h, while most of Punjab's plains are expected to witness predominantly dry weather.
For Saturday (June 27), the IMD has forecast light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar), and Rupnagar. Isolated rainfall is also likely in parts of Gurdaspur district.
A monitoring-category weather alert has been issued for these districts, advising residents to stay updated on local weather conditions as intermittent rain and strong winds may affect normal activities.
