Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, delivered a strong message on organizational discipline and grassroots engagement during a training camp for district Congress presidents held in Kangra.

Taking aim at factionalism within the party, Rahul Gandhi stressed that leaders must avoid aligning with specific groups and instead focus on addressing public concerns. He underlined that symbolic programmes are not enough, urging party workers to actively take to the streets to fight for the rights of Dalits, the poor, and women.

Speaking at the concluding session of the training camp, he emphasized the need for introspection after every election and called on district presidents to strengthen their connection with the public rather than revolving around senior leaders. He also asked them to provide honest and unbiased feedback to the party high command.

The event was attended by Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri, Vinay Kumar, and Rajni Patil, among other senior leaders.

Rahul Gandhi announced that district presidents would be given greater autonomy in decision-making to strengthen the organization. He added that those who perform well would be entrusted with bigger responsibilities, while hardworking grassroots workers would receive due recognition and opportunities.

Encouraging party workers to overcome fear and build confidence, he said they must become the voice of the common people by staying connected to ground realities. During the workshop, which ran from morning till afternoon, Rahul Gandhi interacted with district presidents from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir, seeking their inputs and suggestions to further energize the party.

Family members of some district presidents also attended the final day of the programme, where Rahul Gandhi met them as well, adding a personal touch to the event.
