Indian mountaineer Shradha Gupta is steadily advancing towards the summit of Mount Everest, marking a significant new chapter in her fast-rising mountaineering journey. Her latest expedition comes months after she achieved a major milestone by successfully summiting Mount Manaslu (8,163 metres), the world’s eighth-highest mountain and one of the formidable 8,000-metre peaks.

Shradha reached the summit of Manaslu on September 26, 2025, at 8:06 a.m., accompanied by elite guide Tenji Sherpa as part of Nirmal Purja’s Elite Exped team. Known for its extreme altitude and placement within the dangerous “death zone,” where oxygen levels drop drastically, Manaslu tests even the most experienced climbers. Her successful ascent not only marked her first 8,000-metre summit but also established her among emerging Indian endurance mountaineers.

What makes Shradha’s journey remarkable is the speed of her progression. In just three years, she has transitioned from recreational hiking to high-altitude mountaineering, already conquering three of the coveted Seven Summits — Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Elbrus, and Aconcagua — along with completing the Everest Base Camp trek.

Currently based in Dubai, Shradha leads Corporate Business for the Middle East at DBS Bank, balancing a demanding corporate career with her passion for mountaineering. She began her climbing journey only after the COVID-19 pandemic, rediscovering her love for the outdoors in the UAE.

As she now takes on Everest, the world’s highest peak, Shradha Gupta’s story stands as a powerful example of determination and late beginnings. Her rapid rise continues to inspire aspiring climbers and professionals alike, proving that with focus and resilience, even the toughest summits can come within reach.
