A 45-year-old woman was brutally murdered inside her residence in Gagan Vihar Society under the Jagatpuri police station area of East Delhi. The victim, identified as Komal, was found lying in a pool of blood with a pair of scissors allegedly stabbed into her neck.

According to police sources, Komal’s husband Kamal has been missing since the incident. CCTV footage installed outside the house reportedly captured him leaving the premises around 1:30 pm on a scooter carrying a bag, raising strong suspicion about his involvement in the crime.

Police have registered a murder case and launched raids to trace the absconding husband.

Family members alleged that the couple frequently argued over Kamal’s alleged extramarital relationship with another woman. They also accused him of harassing Komal for dowry.

Komal lived with her husband and their twin children, Gaurav and Gorvika, in a four-storey house in Gagan Vihar. The family occupied the second floor, while other portions of the building were also used by family members.

She earned a living by giving tuition classes to children at home, while Kamal worked as a private tutor visiting students’ homes. Their son Gaurav has completed MBBS and is preparing for MD entrance examinations, while daughter Gorvika works in Noida.

Murder came to light on Thursday night when Gaurav returned home from a library around 9 pm. He found the main door locked from outside. Using a spare key, he entered the house and discovered his mother dead and his father missing.

After checking the CCTV footage, he allegedly saw his father leaving the house earlier in the day with a bag on a scooter.

Police said further investigation is underway and efforts are being made to arrest the accused husband.
