In Patiala, Punjab, an incident where a woman was slapped while standing in line to get a slip at Mata Kaushalya Hospital has sparked outrage. Following the incident, Haryana Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh visited the hospital on Thursday morning around 9 AM to assess the situation and issued strict instructions for action.
The Health Minister directly went to the hospital’s OPD, where he spoke with women standing at the slip counter. During the visit, he listened to the grievances of patients and their family members and instructed the on-site officials to resolve the issues immediately. The women raised complaints about long queues, mismanagement, and the behavior of the staff.
Considering the seriousness of the incident, the Health Minister immediately suspended the staff member who slapped the woman. He made it clear that such negligence and misconduct will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He also emphasized that the staff’s behavior could have caused serious injury to the woman or her child, which is extremely concerning.
