Chandigarh : Bomb Threat Sent to Punjab & Haryana High Court a Day After BJP Office Grenade Attack

The day after the hand grenade attack outside the Punjab BJP office in the city, a threat was made on Thursday to blow up the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The threatening email was received by the SSP’s office, putting the police and security agencies on high alert.

According to information provided by the duty officer, the email contained a warning about a potential bomb explosion in the High Court premises. Upon receiving the information, police, bomb disposal squads, and other security agencies were immediately dispatched to the site.

A thorough search operation is underway in and around the High Court complex. Entry points and movement are being closely monitored for security reasons. Dog squads and bomb detection teams have also conducted checks.

Police officials stated that it is not yet clear whether the threat is genuine or a hoax, but every precautionary measure is being taken to avoid any risk. The cyber team has also been activated and is working to trace the sender of the email. The investigation is ongoing.
