In connection with the incident in Madhuban Colony, Solan, the police have registered a case against Shoolini University. Late Tuesday night, an FIR was filed against the university administration for allegedly abetting the student’s suicide and exerting mental pressure. Nitin’s diary and suicide note have been sent to the Junga laboratory for forensic examination.

Family Alleges Harassment and Job Placement Fraud by University
Before taking his own life, Shoolini University student Nitin Chauhan reportedly called his parents, telling them, “Mom and Dad, take care of yourselves.” The only child of his family, Nitin’s life ended after he was allegedly subjected to harassment at the university and deceived in the name of a job placement.
About the case
Following Nitin’s cremation, a purification ritual was held at his home on Wednesday. Around eight representatives from Shoolini University reportedly remained at Nitin’s home until the evening. Nitin’s father, Kalyan Singh Chauhan, alleged that his son had been harassed by the university administration and was misled regarding a job placement, which caused him severe mental stress leading to his suicide. “We lost our son today,” he said.
The police received information from the Regional Hospital on March 28 that a young man had hanged himself in Madhuban Colony, Solan. The police immediately reached the hospital and, during preliminary investigations, identified the deceased as 21-year-old Nitin Chauhan, son of Kalyan Chauhan, resident of Village & Post Office Sheel, Tehsil Rohru, District Shimla.
