Asmita Women’s Track Cycling League to Be Held in Amritsar, Cyclists from 8 States to Compete

Guru Nanak Dev University to host two-day event on February 19-20; Winners to receive ₹3.45 lakh in cash prizes 

Amritsar: A major platform has been set for emerging women cyclists of North India as the Asmita Women’s Track Cycling League will be held on February 19 and 20 at Guru Nanak Dev University (Guru Nanak Dev University), Amritsar. Talented cyclists from eight northern states are set to participate, creating significant excitement in the sporting community.

Neeraj Tanwar, North Zone In-charge and Assistant Secretary of the Cycling Federation of India, informed that the prestigious league is being organized with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the Sports Authority of India (SAI), and the Cycling Federation of India. He stated that all necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the event have been completed, and this year the competition will be presented in a new and attractive format to make it more competitive and engaging.

Women cyclists from Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Chandigarh will compete in the league. The event will feature exciting contests in the sub-junior and junior categories, showcasing speed, strategy, and determination. Organizers believe that the league will provide young athletes with an excellent opportunity to gain recognition at the national level.

Outstanding performers will be awarded medals along with a total cash prize of ₹3,45,000. The initiative is expected to boost the morale of women athletes and further promote the growth of women’s cycling in the region.
