A massive fire broke out on Thursday afternoon around 12 PM in Kanawani village under the Indirapuram police station area of Ghaziabad. Within minutes, more than 500 shanties were engulfed in flames. The blaze was so intense that it could be seen from a distance, triggering panic across the area. Reports suggest that around six children are missing in the fire, although no official confirmation has been made yet. However, the administration has not yet officially confirmed the disappearance of the children.
Soon after the fire erupted, LPG cylinders stored inside the shanties began exploding one after another. The loud blasts shook the entire locality and spread fear among residents. Upon receiving the information, local police and multiple fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and immediately began firefighting operations.
Dozens of fire tenders have been deployed to control the flames. Officials expect the firefighting operation to continue for several hours due to the scale of the fire. The exact cause of the incident is still unknown; however, initial reports indicate that the fire may have started in a scrap warehouse before spreading rapidly to nearby shanties.
