A youth was shot dead late Wednesday night in Bhullar village of Amritsar, reportedly due to an old rivalry. The deceased has been identified as Manjit Singh.
According to information, Manjit Singh was sitting in his car outside a chicken shop when a group of youngsters arrived on a motorcycle and suddenly opened fire at him. He sustained serious gunshot injuries in the attack.
Locals immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The incident created panic in the area.
Malki Singh, the victim’s cousin, stated that Manjit had an ongoing rivalry with some individuals, and a case related to the dispute had already been registered in 2024.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving the information and began an investigation. Initial findings suggest that the murder is linked to the old enmity. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify the accused, and efforts are underway to arrest them.
Police officials said that all angles are being thoroughly investigated and raids are being conducted to nab the suspects.
