The Haryana government has expanded the coverage of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announcing that women from families with an annual income of up to ₹1.80 lakh will now be eligible for monthly financial assistance of ₹2,100. The earlier income eligibility limit was ₹1 lakh. According to the government, payments to newly eligible women are expected to begin from November.
Speaking at Jan Samvad programmes in the Ladwa Assembly constituency, Saini said the second phase of the scheme was launched on September 17. The expansion is expected to bring around 17 lakh additional women under the scheme. The registration portal for newly eligible beneficiaries has been opened, and according to the Chief Minister, payments will begin from November 1.
According to the state government, more than ₹2,000 crore has already been transferred directly into the bank accounts of women beneficiaries under the scheme. Before the expansion, more than 10 lakh women were receiving the benefit. Under the scheme, eligible women aged 23 years and above receive ₹2,100 every month.
₹1.12 Crore Announced for Development of Four Villages
During the Jan Samvad programmes, the Chief Minister announced a total of ₹1.12 crore for development works in Kalirano, Sultanpur, Sonti and Bir Sonti villages. Kalirano was allocated ₹21 lakh for development works along with ₹2 lakh for library books. Sultanpur was allocated ₹21 lakh for development and ₹5 lakh for the local gurdwara. Sonti and Bir Sonti were each allocated ₹21 lakh for development works.
Saini also claimed that the Haryana government had provided around 2 lakh government jobs to young people over the past 12 years and that recruitment was carried out on the basis of merit. He alleged that under previous governments, candidates often needed money or recommendations to secure government jobs.
The Chief Minister said the government had made 217 commitments before the elections, of which 70 had been fulfilled so far, while work on the remaining commitments was underway. He also highlighted the expansion of road infrastructure and connectivity between different parts of Haryana and major highways.
On agriculture, Saini claimed that Haryana was the first state in the country to procure all 24 crops grown by farmers at the Minimum Support Price. He accused Congress leaders of misleading farmers on the issue of MSP and highlighted the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana.
According to Saini, the previous Congress government had provided ₹137 crore in compensation for crop losses, while the present government had provided ₹16,500 crore. These figures and allegations were presented by the Chief Minister during the Jan Samvad programmes.
