Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has announced recruitment for 358 Graduate Apprentice Trainee (Engineering) positions for the 2026–27 apprenticeship cycle. The online application process will begin on July 15, 2026, and remain open until July 31, 2026.
The apprenticeship opportunities are available for graduates in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation Engineering. Maharashtra has the highest number of vacancies with 64 posts, followed by Uttar Pradesh (37), Gujarat (32), Tamil Nadu (20), Telangana (19), Delhi (18), and Rajasthan (17). Punjab has 16 vacancies, while Haryana has 14.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in one of the eligible engineering disciplines. Applicants from the General and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) categories must have secured at least 60% marks, while SC, ST, and PwBD candidates require a minimum of 50% marks.
The age of applicants should be between 18 and 25 years as of July 31, 2026.
HPCL has clarified that no written examination will be conducted for the recruitment. Selection will be based entirely on academic merit, with candidates shortlisted in a 1:5 ratio for document verification based on their engineering degree scores. A final merit list will be prepared after document verification.
Selected candidates will be required to accept a tripartite apprenticeship contract on the NATS portal, followed by medical fitness certification and police verification before joining.
The selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹25,000, comprising ₹20,500 from HPCL and ₹4,500 provided by the Government of India through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
