Punjab Newsline | Amritsar

Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav on Wednesday shared key findings in connection with the recent explosions in Jalandhar and Amritsar, confirming that Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were used in both incidents.

Addressing a press conference in Amritsar, the DGP said preliminary investigations suggest that the blasts may have been executed using timers or remote-control mechanisms. He added that agencies are closely examining the technical aspects to establish the exact method used.

Yadav also indicated a possible link to Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), stating that such incidents appear to be part of a larger proxy war aimed at disturbing peace in Punjab. He said efforts are being made from across the border to destabilize the state.

Doubts Over KLA Claim

On the issue of responsibility, the DGP expressed skepticism over claims made in the name of the so-called Khalistan Liberation Army (KLA). He said there is no concrete evidence of such an organization’s existence and that such names are often used on social media to spread confusion and misinformation.

No Direct Link Yet Between Blasts

The police have not yet established any direct connection between the Jalandhar and Amritsar blasts. Investigative agencies are currently mapping the routes and networks of the suspects to trace those involved and uncover the broader conspiracy.

Calling Punjab a “frontline state,” Yadav noted that such threats and inputs are received from time to time. However, he reassured the public that the situation remains under control and that strict action will be taken against any elements attempting to disturb peace at the behest of external forces.
