The Amritsar Rural Police have arrested a man along with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) allegedly sent by Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, to carry out a blast in India. According to officials, the IED was intended to target a police building, but timely action by the police prevented a major incident.

The accused has been identified as Harman Singh, a resident of village Unnao Pura under Ajnala police station near the India-Pakistan border. When the bomb disposal squad defused the IED, it was found to contain more than half a kilogram of RDX, iron pellets, a tiffin box, a detonator, a remote device, and wires.

During questioning by security agencies, Harman revealed that he had recovered the IED from fields in the Ramdas area, where it was dropped by Pakistani smugglers using a drone. He was supposed to deliver the explosive further.

Investigators also found Pakistani contact numbers on Harman’s mobile phone. It has been revealed that he made over two dozen calls to these contacts in the past week. Authorities suspect his direct links with Pakistan’s ISI and are now working to identify and arrest other members of the network involved.
