As May comes to an end and June 2026 approaches, banking services across India are set to be affected by a series of holidays. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines under the Negotiable Instruments Act, banks will remain closed on multiple occasions, depending on national, weekly, and state-specific holidays.

In June 2026, banks are expected to remain closed for around 11 to 13 days in different states. This includes six weekly holidays—four Sundays and two Saturdays—along with several regional and festival-based closures.

Weekly Bank Holidays in June 2026:

  • June 7 (Sunday)

  • June 13 (Second Saturday)

  • June 14 (Sunday)

  • June 21 (Sunday)

  • June 27 (Fourth Saturday)

  • June 28 (Sunday)

State-wise and Festival Holidays:

  • June 15 (Monday): Raja Sankranti and YMA Day – Banks closed in Odisha and Mizoram

  • June 17 (Wednesday): Maharana Pratap Jayanti – Banks closed in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan

  • June 18 (Thursday): Martyrdom Day of Guru Arjun Dev – Banks closed in Punjab

  • June 25 (Thursday): Muharram – Banks closed in Vijayawada and Andhra Pradesh

  • June 26 (Friday): Muharram (Ashura) – Banks closed in most states including Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar

  • June 29 (Monday): Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti – Banks closed in Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh

  • June 30 (Tuesday): Remna Ni – Banks closed in Mizoram

Digital Banking Services to Remain Active:
Despite multiple holidays, customers need not worry as all essential banking services such as money transfers, bill payments, and cash withdrawals will remain available through mobile banking, internet banking, and ATMs 24x7.
