Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar resigned from his membership of the Bihar Legislative Council following his election to the Rajya Sabha on Monday (30 March).
State Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary confirmed the development, stating that the resignation was part of a constitutional requirement. He added that MLC Sanjay Gandhi formally submitted the resignation letter to the Council Chairman, Awadhesh Narain Singh.
In a parallel development, Sanjay Saraogi submitted the resignation of Nitin Naveen to the Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Prem Kumar. Nitin Naveen had reportedly handed over his resignation to the state party leadership a day earlier before leaving for Assam.
The resignations are being seen as part of procedural and political adjustments following recent appointments and role changes.
