Marking the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, the Indian Armed Forces delivered a strong message to Pakistan, stating that the mission was “not the end, but the beginning” of a sustained campaign against terrorism.

Senior military officials, including Air Marshal Avdhesh Kumar Bharti, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, and Vice Admiral AN Pramod, shared key details of the operation during a press briefing, highlighting India’s coordinated action across the Army, Air Force, and Navy.

The operation was launched in response to the April 22, 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam and targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said India successfully destroyed multiple terror facilities and later expanded strikes following Pakistan’s response.

Air Marshal Bharti stated that India hit nine terror sites and later targeted Pakistani military assets after escalation. He also claimed that 11 airfields were struck and 13 aircraft were destroyed, adding that India achieved all its operational objectives before pausing the mission.

Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai emphasized that more than 100 Pakistani soldiers were killed in retaliatory action along the Line of Control. He said the operation reflected India’s strategic restraint combined with decisive military capability.

Officials reiterated that India’s response was focused solely on terror infrastructure, and warned that any future provocation would be met with a strong and decisive counteraction. They also highlighted India’s growing defence self-reliance, noting that over 65% of military equipment is now indigenously produced.
