Punjab will remain under an orange alert on Friday and Saturday. The weather department has warned that some areas may see thunderstorms, light rain, and even hail.
According to the India Meteorological Department, there could be thunder, lightning, and scattered showers across the state. Hail is also possible in a few places.
On Thursday, Patiala recorded the highest temperature at 36.8°C. Rupnagar and Fazilka recorded 35.7°C, Ludhiana 35.6°C, and Faridkot 35°C. Mohali recorded 34.8°C, while Gurdaspur recorded 34°C.
In the last 24 hours, the average temperature in the state has gone up by 3.7°C, which is 3.3°C above normal.
The weather centre in Chandigarh has said that the weather will stay unstable on April 3 and 4, with chances of rain, thunderstorms, and hail in some areas.
