Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni upon his arrival in Italy, marking the seventh meeting between the two leaders and highlighting the growing strategic partnership between India and Italy.

The first pictures of their meeting at Rome’s iconic Colosseum quickly went viral on social media. Giorgia Meloni also shared a selfie with PM Modi, which received massive attention and appreciation online.

Photographs from the airport reception and official engagements reflected the strong rapport between the two leaders.
Over the past few years, India and Italy have significantly expanded cooperation in sectors such as trade, defence, energy and technology. The meeting is also being viewed as an important step in strengthening India-Europe relations.
Sharing pictures from the visit on X, PM Modi wrote that he had the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni over dinner after arriving in Rome. He added that both leaders also visited the famous Colosseum and held discussions on several key issues.
PM Modi further said that another meeting would take place later to discuss ways to further deepen India-Italy friendship and cooperation.
