Ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab succeeded in winning three of the four assembly constituencies where by elections were held on November 20.
AAP won from the Chabbewal, Dera Baba Nanak, and Gidderbaha assembly constituencies, while Congress succeeded in winning from Barnala, making the score 3-1.
The by-elections are being seen as a personal setback for three sitting MPs, two from Congress and one from AAP.Punjab Congress President and MP Amrinder Singh Raja Warring's wife, Amrita Warring, lost to to Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon of AAP from Gidderbaha.
