Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will meet the President of India Droupadi Murmu on May 5 to raise concerns over six Rajya Sabha MPs from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) allegedly defecting to the Bharatiya Janata Party. The meeting is scheduled for 12 PM, and the CM has been granted time to meet the President alone.
Mann had earlier requested permission to meet the President along with all 94 AAP MLAs. The intention behind this was to push for action under the “Right to Recall,” seeking cancellation of the six MPs’ memberships and a re-election process.
Taking to social media platform X, Mann stated that although only he has been invited for the meeting, he will still take all MLAs to the Rashtrapati Bhavan. While the legislators will remain outside, he will personally present Punjab’s stance and the voice of its people before the President.
