According to police, the Special Cell team received specific intelligence on March 19, 2026, about a suspicious vehicle suspected of transporting narcotics. Acting swiftly, the team intercepted a Haryana-registered Swift car near Tara Devi Zero Point. During the search, 94 grams of heroin were recovered from the vehicle, and all five occupants were arrested on the spot.

The accused have been identified as Anjit (34), Irfan (38), Ravikant (30), Mukesh (47), and Narendra (38), all residents of Sonipat and Jhajjar districts of Haryana. During initial interrogation, they revealed that they had brought the drugs to Shimla with the intention of selling them.

A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at West Police Station, Shimla. After being produced in court, Irfan, Mukesh, Narendra, and Ravikant have been sent to 14-day judicial custody, while Anjit has been taken on police remand for further questioning.
