In a major crackdown in Amritsar, police have seized 64.62 kilograms of heroin valued at approximately ₹450 crore and arrested two smugglers. Preliminary investigations revealed that the consignment was sourced from Pakistan and was intended for further distribution.
Acting swiftly, the police intercepted the consignment before it could be supplied. Investigations have uncovered links to overseas handlers and the notorious Musa gang operating out of Pakistan. The network was allegedly involved in cross-border drug trafficking, supplying narcotics across Punjab and other states.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sarwan Singh, a resident of Awan village, and Shamsher Singh from Iktiar Nagar village. Both were apprehended near Mahal village.
An FIR has been registered at SSOC Police Station in Amritsar, and further investigation is underway. DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that the primary objective is to dismantle the entire network and apprehend all those involved.
