Tensions between Iran and the United States have once again reached a boiling point. While diplomatic efforts between the two countries continue, sharp rhetoric from both sides has further intensified the situation.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf accused US President Donald Trump of making “seven false claims within an hour,” although he did not specify which statements he was referring to.

Issuing a stern warning to Washington, Ghalibaf said that if the US continues its naval blockade, Iran could be forced to shut down the Strait of Hormuz a critical global oil transit route.

In a post on the social media platform X, Ghalibaf stated that ships would only be allowed to pass through Hormuz via designated routes and with Iran’s permission. He emphasized that the strait would not remain open if the blockade persists.

Meanwhile, President Trump made several major claims regarding Iran. He said that Tehran has agreed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and has assured that it will not be shut under any circumstances. Trump also asserted that the US naval blockade on Iranian ports will continue until a final agreement is reached between the two nations.

Additionally, Trump claimed that talks with Iran would resume from Sunday, aiming to take concrete steps toward a permanent ceasefire. He further stated that Iran is assisting the US in clearing naval mines from key maritime routes.
