Border Security Force (BSF) Downs Drone in the international border area of Amritsar, seized a consignment of drugs delivering by Pakistani smugglers. A joint search operation was launched by the BSF along with other agencies. During the search, a drone was recovered from fields in the nearby area. Additionally, a packet containing approximately 535 grams of heroin was seized.

Suspicious drone activity was detected near the Border Out Post (BOP) Kalam Dogar area close to the border. Late Sunday night, BSF personnel deployed in the region heard the sound of a drone, prompting them to immediately raise an alert. Acting swiftly, the BSF troops opened fire in the direction of the suspected drone to prevent it from advancing and to foil any smuggling attempt.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the drone was sent from Pakistan with the intent of delivering the drug consignment into Indian territory. Security in the area has been intensified after the incident, and surveillance in nearby villages has been increased.

Officials stated that further investigation is underway to determine the drone’s point of origin and to identify the network involved in the smuggling attempt.
