Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced that the countdown for the launch of the ‘Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’ has begun, with the first installment of financial assistance set to be credited directly into the bank accounts of eligible women on July 1.

Under the scheme, women belonging to Scheduled Caste families will receive ₹4,500 as the first installment covering three months, while women from all other categories will receive ₹3,000.

Addressing a ‘Lok Milni’ program after inaugurating various development projects in Chanarthal Kalan village of Fatehgarh Sahib constituency, the Chief Minister said the initiative reflects the AAP government’s commitment to ensuring women’s dignity, financial security, and social empowerment. He added that the assistance would continue without interruption as long as the AAP government remains in power in Punjab.

Speaking at the gathering, Mann said that women beneficiaries aged 18 years and above would start receiving notifications on their mobile phones from July 1 confirming the transfer of funds into their accounts.

Women from the general category will receive ₹1,000 per month, while Scheduled Caste women will receive ₹1,500 per month. The amount will be transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts without any intermediaries.

The Chief Minister also clarified that women already receiving social security pensions will remain eligible for the scheme. According to the state government, nearly 97 percent of women in Punjab are expected to benefit from the initiative, for which a budget allocation of ₹9,300 crore has been made.

Mann said that while the financial assistance may not make women wealthy, it would provide them with dignity, self-respect, and confidence. He emphasized that women deserve the highest respect as they are the source of life itself, adding that the blessings of mothers and sisters help overcome every challenge.
