Punjab Police intensified their crackdown on drug trafficking, recovering ice drug and heroin in two separate operations.

Kulgadhi police arrested Harshdeep Singh, a Ludhiana resident, and seized 1.964 kg of ice drug from his possession. Police said he was allegedly waiting in his car at Dana Mandi in Sande Hasham village to deliver the consignment.

In Gurdaspur, police recovered 2.76 kg of heroin during surveillance along the Ravi River and arrested one suspect. Officials said the action foiled an alleged attempt to smuggle drugs across the India-Pakistan border using drones.

Gurdaspur SSP Aditya said police have registered six heroin cases, arrested seven suspects and recovered around 7.2 kg of heroin over the past week. A pistol and revolver were also seized during the operations.
