Mansa district in Punjab was put on high alert after a bomb threat was issued against the Mansa Court Complex and four government schools. Following the threat, police deployed additional security personnel at the court complex and the identified schools and launched a thorough investigation.
Security measures have been significantly tightened at the Mansa Court Complex. Every visitor entering the premises is being frisked and allowed inside only after detailed security checks.
According to officials, the threat surfaced after a handwritten letter was found during the construction of a stadium in village Hero Kalan. The village sarpanch informed the police, who immediately took possession of the letter and began investigations.
The letter, written in Punjabi, reportedly threatened to blow up the Mansa Court Complex as well as Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), Mansa, and government schools located in Hero Kalan, Khiwa Kalan and Atla Kalan villages. The message contained threatening language and challenged authorities to act against those responsible.
In view of student safety, authorities declared a holiday in the affected rural schools as a precautionary measure. Police teams have been deployed in the area, while security agencies are examining the letter and investigating its origin.
Bhikhi Police Station SHO Gurmel Singh confirmed the receipt of the threat letter and said that a detailed probe is underway. He added that all aspects of the case are being examined and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
