Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh has been sent to judicial custody until April 30 after the completion of his two-day police remand.
He was produced on Saturday before a court in Ajnala via video conferencing. Currently lodged in Dibrugarh Jail, Singh attended the proceedings remotely.
His lawyer, Ritu Raj Singh Sandhu, stated that following the end of the police remand, the prosecution requested judicial custody, which the court approved.
During the hearing, the police informed the court that no further interrogation of Singh was required at this stage, as the investigation in the case has been completed. However, they noted that police remand could be sought again if necessary in the future.
Earlier, the court had placed Singh under a two-day police remand in connection with the Ajnala police station attack case, which has now concluded.
