In a major development for residents across Haryana, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the key deadlines for its ongoing Special Intensive Revision campaign. State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) A. Srinivas stated that the revision aims to safeguard voters' interests, ensuring no eligible citizen is left out due to strict cut-off dates.
Revised Schedule & Key Dates
According to the updated timeline released by the Election Commission, the revised dates are as follows:
Filing Claims & Objections: July 31 to September 30, 2026.
Disposal of Claims & Objections: July 31 to October 28, 2026.
Final Publication of Electoral Roll: November 6, 2026.
This extension provides significant relief to citizens who were previously unable to register, correct their details, or file objections within the initial timeframe.
How to Register or Amend Details
The Commission's core objective is to build an accurate, transparent, and error-free electoral roll. Eligible voters can use the following standard forms:
Form 6 (New Voters): For eligible citizens (aged 18 or above) whose names are missing from the roll. Applications must include supporting documents and a self-declaration.
Form 7 (Deletions): To request the removal of a name or object to an existing entry.
Form 8 (Corrections): To update or amend personal details such as address, name spelling, or photograph.
