Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday inaugurated two state-of-the-art Schools of Eminence (SOE) in Ludhiana’s Kidwai Nagar and Miller Ganj-Dholewal, marking another major step in the state government’s efforts to strengthen public education. Amid tight security, the Chief Minister inspected the newly developed campuses, interacted with students and teachers, and met local residents who had gathered for the inauguration ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, CM Mann said the Punjab Government’s vision extends beyond constructing new school buildings. He emphasized that the goal is to create a world-class education system that provides every child with quality learning, modern infrastructure, and equal opportunities to succeed. According to him, the transformation taking place in Punjab’s education sector is the result of the government’s “education revolution,” which is now delivering tangible benefits to students across the state.
Sharing his thoughts on social media platform X, the Chief Minister expressed happiness over inaugurating the new School of Eminence buildings in Ludhiana. He said the improved learning environment, advanced infrastructure, and high-quality education in government schools have significantly increased public confidence. As a result, many parents are now choosing government schools over private institutions for their children’s education.
Highlighting the achievements of Punjab’s education sector, CM Mann stated that the state has emerged as one of the leading performers in education. He noted that 882 students from Punjab qualified the NEET examination this year, while more than 125 students cleared JEE Main, reflecting the growing academic excellence of government school students in national-level competitive examinations.
The Chief Minister said the government is investing heavily in modern school infrastructure, smart classrooms, digital education, science laboratories, libraries, and sports facilities to help students realize their dreams. He added that investment in education is the most valuable investment for the future, and the Punjab Government remains committed to providing every child with the best possible learning opportunities.
CM Mann further said that parents once depended largely on expensive private schools for quality education, but the standard of teaching and facilities in government schools has improved remarkably. Because of these reforms, a large number of students are shifting from private schools to Schools of Eminence and other government institutions. He claimed that in several areas, nearly 90 percent of students are now opting for government schools, reflecting the growing trust of parents in the state’s public education system.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to educational development, the Chief Minister said Punjab aims to establish world-class educational facilities across every district so that no child is deprived of quality education due to financial or geographical barriers. He also praised teachers for their dedication and hard work, saying their contribution has been instrumental in transforming the image of government schools. Concluding the event, CM Mann encouraged students to pursue their dreams with confidence, stating that quality education will pave the way for a progressive and prosperous “Rangla Punjab” in the years ahead.
