CM Mann finalizes comprehensive Plan for Celebrating Guru Ravidas Ji’s 650th Prakash Purab

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday finalised the entire sequence of the events to be organised for commemorating the upcoming 650th parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass ji. 

A decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of the CM Mann with the Sant Samaj at Punjab Bhawan. CM outlined a series of statewide events and initiatives. These include seminars, kirtan samagams, yatras, plantation drives, and the development of 650 acres of ‘Guru Ravidass Bagichis’, with the main function to be held at Khuralgarh.

Addressing the gathering, Mann said he feels privileged to have the opportunity to commemorate both the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and the 650th Parkash Purab of Guru Ravidass Ji. He assured that the state government will leave no stone unturned to celebrate the historic occasion and spread Guru Ji’s message globally.

Highlighting Guru Ravidass Ji’s teachings, the Chief Minister said the revered saint envisioned an egalitarian society free from discrimination and injustice. He reiterated the government’s commitment to building a society based on equality, dignity, and social justice, inspired by Guru Ji’s philosophy.

Mann further stated that the year-long celebrations will feature a wide range of activities, including school-level competitions, documentary screenings, drone shows, blood donation camps, and plantation drives. Around 6.5 lakh saplings per district will be planted on panchayati land as part of the initiative.

The main program at Khuralgarh will include exhibitions on the life and teachings of Guru Ravidass Ji, Katha and Kirtan Darbars, Sant Samelan, a conference on Guru Ji’s Bani, 3D projection shows at Minar-e-Begumpura, and a grand drone display. A commemorative pendant will also be released on the occasion.

On the occasion, Cabinet Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Lal Chand Kataruchak and Dr Ravjot, Lok Sabha MP Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Advisor Tourism and Cultural Affairs Deepak Bali and others were also present.
