A 32-year-old dairy operator, identified as Jeevan, was brutally murdered early Tuesday morning near the railway tracks in Suryanagar’s Gali No. 6 in Hisar. The attackers allegedly assaulted him with iron rods and sticks, causing fatal injuries.
According to preliminary information, 12 to 15 people were involved in the attack. Police suspect the murder was linked to an old dispute with a neighbour, Ramesh Pandit, which had erupted about six weeks ago over dumping fodder in a water trough outside the house.
Police launch investigation
After receiving information, HTM police station in-charge Vikas reached the spot with his team. A scene-of-crime unit also visited the location and collected forensic evidence. Police have registered a murder case and are examining CCTV cameras installed in the locality to identify all the accused.
Family refuses to take body
The victim’s family has refused to accept the body after the post-mortem, demanding the arrest of all those involved in the killing before performing the last rites.
Disturbing video surfaces
A 1-minute-12-second video, reportedly recorded before Jeevan died, has surfaced. In the video, he claims that he was going on his motorcycle to dump cow dung near the railway line when he was dragged off the bike between Gali No. 4 and Gali No. 5 by a group of youths.
Jeevan alleged that the assailants attacked him with iron rods and sticks and named Ramesh Pandit and another man known as Mollad among those involved. He can be heard saying that both his hands and legs had been broken and that he had little hope of survival.
Visible injury marks can be seen on his hands and legs in the video, while his father Vijender is also seen standing beside him.
Family members said that after learning about the assault, Jeevan’s father and two local youths rushed to the spot where he had been attacked.
The shocking murder has created tension in the Suryanagar area, and police say efforts are underway to identify and arrest all those responsible for the crime.
