The makers of “Main Vaapas Aaunga” have released their first song “Kya Kamaal Hai”, a soulful track that brings a message of hope, love and inner peace in today’s turbulent times. Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh described the song as very close to his heart, saying its simplicity and honesty encourage listeners to pause and truly feel. He also called it an honour to collaborate with Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman, adding that working with him never feels like work.
Diljit praised director Imtiaz Ali for his authentic storytelling, noting that his cinematic world feels real and never forced. He also appreciated lyricist Irshad Kamil, whose words, he said, come straight from the heart and connect deeply with listeners. The song “Kya Kamaal Hai” draws inspiration from love stories during the 1947 partition, highlighting relationships that survived pain, separation and loss. It reflects the power of love and togetherness that can overcome even the most difficult circumstances.
According to Imtiaz Ali, the song resonates strongly in today’s uncertain world, offering a sense of calm and positivity. A. R. Rahman shared that working with Imtiaz and Irshad feels like continuing a creative conversation that never truly ends. He added that the song captures the beauty and stillness often lost amid noise and conflict, especially in a story centered around separation and displacement. Irshad Kamil described the track as more than just a song, calling it a dreamlike world filled with love, peace and emotional healing.
The film stars Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari Wagh and Vedang Raina alongside Diljit Dosanjh. “Main Vaapas Aaunga” is set to release in cinemas on June 12, promising an emotional and heartfelt cinematic experience.
