Amid a heated political clash over the Women’s Reservation Bill, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the nation tonight at 8:30 PM.
The central government had introduced the bill in the Lok Sabha, but it failed to pass. According to sources, during today’s Cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister strongly criticized the opposition, accusing them of being responsible for the bill’s failure and of acting against the interests of women by not supporting it.
In the meeting, Modi launched a sharp attack, stating that the defeat of the bill in the Lok Sabha should not be seen as the government’s loss, but as opposition to the rights of women in the country. He reportedly linked the issue directly to women’s empowerment and questioned the intentions of opposition parties.
The Prime Minister’s address is expected to outline the government’s stance and future course of action on the issue.
