Eight associates of Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh were produced before a court on Thursday afternoon in connection with the Ajnala police station attack case. During the hearing, the court recorded the statements of all the accused as part of the ongoing trial proceedings.

The accused presented before the court were identified as Harmel Singh, Basant Singh, Kulwant Singh, Harjeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Balwinder Singh, Ishwar Singh, and Bhagwant Singh alias Pradhan Mantri Bajeke. Following the recording of their statements, the court is expected to continue with the remaining legal formalities in the case.

According to sources, the matter has entered an advanced stage, and a decision could be reached within the next two to three months.

The case stems from an incident in February 2023, when Amritpal Singh and hundreds of his supporters allegedly stormed the Ajnala police station under the guise of a religious procession. The confrontation led to heightened tensions between protesters and the police. During the incident, Superintendent of Police Jugraj Singh and four other police personnel sustained injuries.
