A 26-year-old software engineer was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Amaravati Enclave, Panchkula. The victim’s blood-soaked body was discovered inside a rented room, with over 50 stab wounds inflicted by a sharp weapon on his hands. Deep injuries were also found on his neck. Blood splatters were scattered across the walls and floor of the room.

The deceased has been identified as Bngla Rishikesh, a resident of Hyderabad, who had arrived in Amravati from Hyderabad on March 30. He rented a room in the enclave on April 4. He was living alone and working as a software engineer in a company.

On Wednesday night, one of his colleagues tried calling him, but he did not answer. When he failed to respond to calls the following morning as well, the colleague grew suspicious and informed the landlord. Upon receiving the information, Amaravati police arrived at the scene and broke open the door.

According to Amaravati outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector Pritam Singh, the case initially appears to be a suicide. However, the police are investigating all possible angles. The exact cause of death will be determined after the postmortem report. The victim’s family has been informed, and further action will be taken after their arrival.
