The Punjab government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle, issuing transfer and posting orders for four IAS officers. According to the orders issued by the government, the new postings will come into effect immediately. The reshuffle has assigned important responsibilities to senior officers with the aim of strengthening administrative functioning and ensuring better coordination among departments.
The latest orders include the names of Varun Roojam, IAS (2004 batch), Sakshi Sahni, IAS (2014 batch), Sandeep Rishi, IAS (2015 batch), and Nikas Kumar, IAS (2020 batch). The government’s latest administrative changes are being viewed as an effort to streamline departmental functioning and improve coordination in key areas.
Among the major appointments, IAS officer Sakshi Sahni has been given several important responsibilities. She has been appointed Special Secretary, Health and Family Welfare. In addition, she has been given the additional charge of Mission Director, National Health Mission, Punjab. The responsibility will involve overseeing important aspects related to health services and the implementation of programmes under the National Health Mission in the state.
Sakshi Sahni has also been given the additional charge of Nodal Officer for the anti-drug campaign. With this responsibility, she will play an important role in coordinating efforts against drug abuse in Punjab. The state government has been running various campaigns against drugs, and her new assignment is expected to further strengthen coordination among the departments involved in these initiatives.
In another significant assignment, Sakshi Sahni has also been given the charge of Director, Sports and Youth Services, against a vacant post. This means she will now handle multiple key responsibilities related to health administration, the anti-drug campaign, and sports and youth services.
The latest administrative reshuffle comes at a time when the Punjab government is focusing on strengthening the delivery of public services and improving coordination between departments. With the new orders taking immediate effect, the concerned officers will now assume their respective responsibilities.
