The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has announced the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) schedule for the recruitment of 5,500 constables. The process will begin on April 20 at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula. Admit cards will be issued on April 17.
Initially, around 1,000 candidates will be called daily during the first week, after which the number will increase to up to 3,000 candidates per day. The tests will be conducted from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
For the recruitment drive, the commission has entered into agreements with several companies. To ensure accurate physical measurements of height and chest, 25 machines imported from Germany have been installed. These sensor-based machines are designed to prevent manipulation if a candidate lifts their heel, the screen will immediately show a zero reading, leaving no scope for cheating.
Around 2.70 lakh candidates have applied for this recruitment.
Transport and Management Arrangements
To facilitate candidates arriving in Panchkula, five buses each have been requested from the Chandigarh and Panchkula roadways depots. These buses will operate between Zirakpur and the Chandigarh-Panchkula railway station to the stadium. Additionally, buses operating across the state will be diverted via Panchkula during this period.
For smooth management at the stadium, four inspectors/sub-inspectors from the Panchkula depot and two from the Chandigarh depot will be deployed.
Food and Support Arrangements
Arrangements are also being made to provide food and refreshments to candidates. The sports department has been requested to provide coaches for managing duties in the basketball and volleyball halls at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, along with staff support from other departments.
Social organizations are being contacted to set up food stalls outside the stadium for candidates coming from across the state, although the number of participating groups has not yet been finalized.
During the PMT process, a commission member will remain present on-site at all times. Any issues faced by candidates will be addressed immediately.
