A 7-year-old girl playing outside her home in a street in Jalandhar was run over by a negligent car driver. Due to severe injuries, the child died on the spot. The main cause of the accident is believed to be the driver’s reckless behavior. Police have started an investigation into the matter.
The incident took place in Guru Nanak Pura West area of Jalandhar. The deceased has been identified as 7-year-old Radhika. The car driver is reportedly a resident of Moga district in Punjab and had come to the area to visit a relative. According to eyewitnesses, he was trying to turn his car in the narrow lane when the accident occurred.
As soon as the sound of the crash was heard and the family saw Radhika in a bloodied condition, chaos and cries filled the area. Neighbors gathered immediately, but by then, the young girl had already succumbed to her injuries.
Upon receiving information, a police team reached the spot. The body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. The driver has been detained and is being questioned.
