On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam attack, the nation was once again filled with grief and remembrance. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the innocent lives lost and reiterated India’s unwavering resolve to fight terrorism. The Indian Army also issued a strong message in response to the incident.

A memorial site has been established in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, dedicated to the 26 victims who lost their lives in the tragic terror attack at Baisaran on April 22, 2025. The memorial stands as a reminder of the innocent lives cut short in the horrific incident.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and paid homage to those who lost their lives in the attack. He said that the victims will never be forgotten and assured that the entire nation stands with the bereaved families in their time of grief.

Reaffirming India’s stance against terrorism, the Prime Minister stated that the country will never bow before terror in any form. He added that the conspiracies of terrorists will never succeed and India will continue to respond with full strength and determination.

Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the victims 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to the victims on the anniversary of the attack. He said that the nation can never forget the innocent lives lost in the “cowardly attack” of April 22, 2025. Expressing his deepest condolences to the bereaved families, Rajnath Singh remarked that the entire country shares in their pain. He added that this wound would forever remain fresh in India's collective memory.

Zero-tolerance policy against terrorism : Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the innocent people who lost their lives in the assault. In his message, Amit Shah asserted that terrorism is the greatest enemy of humanity and that everyone must unite to fight against it collectively. He reiterated that India would remain steadfast in upholding its zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and those who provide patronage to it.

Indian Army stated; No compromise on national security

The Indian Army, in an official message on social media, stated that any hostile action against India will be met with a firm and decisive response. The Army emphasized that justice will be delivered and there will be no compromise on national security.

Under Operation Mahadev, the armed forces achieved a significant breakthrough. The Army indicated that success in the operation was only a matter of time. During the mission, extensive search operations were conducted in extremely difficult and dangerous terrain covering nearly 300% intensified efforts. After 93 continuous days and nights of search operations, the security forces achieved a major success.
